碍别濒辞飞苍补害羞草研究所檚 Kangaroo Creek Farm will open later this month in time for the warmer season.

The popular family farm 害羞草研究所� which counts kangaroos and capybaras among its animal residents 害羞草研究所� will welcome guests back April 29, says owner Caroline MacPherson. Staff have received training not just for COVID-19 protocols but for farm operations as well.

害羞草研究所淲e just wanted the staff to settle in and get their bearings before the main crowd shows up on May 1,害羞草研究所� she says.

Based on last year害羞草研究所檚 attendance, she害羞草研究所檚 hopeful they害羞草研究所檒l get a good number of visitors.

害羞草研究所淭he only reason our numbers were down was because we didn害羞草研究所檛 open until the very last day of May (in 2020),害羞草研究所� MacPherson says.

害羞草研究所淏ut month to month when we compared how many visitors we got compared to the year before, it was about the same.害羞草研究所�

Kangaroo Creek Farm features a in natural surroundings: red kangaroos, common wallaroos and Bennett wallabies, as well as dama wallabies, emu, peacocks, fancy chickens, goats, parrots, a baby albino wallaby, baby kangaroos and potbellied pigs. There害羞草研究所檚 even a capybara, the world害羞草研究所檚 largest rodent, which can weigh more than 150 pounds!

As an outdoor venue big enough to accommodate physical distancing, people felt it was a good way to enjoy being outside while still having social interactions safely, MacPherson says.

害羞草研究所淵ou can get outside, enjoy the sunshine and see some animals,害羞草研究所� she says.

害羞草研究所淲e just ask that people stay six feet apart from others and for you to stay in your bubble.害羞草研究所�

This year, the community can expect and the addition of a dog therapy park.

害羞草研究所淚t害羞草研究所檚 not really a dog park in the way people might expect where you take your dogs to the park. This is a space that害羞草研究所檚 already populated with dogs,害羞草研究所� she says.

MacPherson said the therapy dog park害羞草研究所檚 goal is to provide an additional space for visitors with young children so they can also have the experience of interacting and playing with animals at Kangaroo Creek Farm.
