BC SPCA offering 50% off rabbit adoption fees in 害羞草研究所榖unanza害羞草研究所 event July 14-23

Increase in numbers means B.C. residents can adopt a bunny for half-price

If you害羞草研究所檝e been thinking about adopting a furry friend, now is an excellent time to consider adopting a rabbit from the BC SPCA.

The animal welfare agency is seeing an increase in the number of rabbits coming into its care 害羞草研究所 including a recent large intake with many pregnant rabbits 害羞草研究所 and the numbers keep going up.

Currently, 250 rabbits are either in animal centres or with BC SPCA fosters, a release noted.

To help find these rabbits homes and make room for more, the BC SPCA is offering 50 per cent off all rabbit adoption fees Friday, July 14 through Sunday, July 23.

害羞草研究所淭he recent large intake of rabbits has definitely made the need to find forever homes more urgent,害羞草研究所 said Adrienne McBride, the BC SPCA害羞草研究所檚 senior director for Community Animal Centres.

害羞草研究所淏ut we have been seeing an increase in rabbits in our care for months now.害羞草研究所

McBride added that some rabbits come into the BC SPCA害羞草研究所檚 care because guardians adopted two rabbits thinking they were the same sex and suddenly, there are babies.

害羞草研究所淎ll of the rabbits adopted through the BC SPCA are spayed or neutered before they go to their forever homes. It is included in the fee,害羞草研究所 she said.

Some rabbits are surrendered because their guardians are moving and their new home doesn害羞草研究所檛 accept pets.
