Lauren Collins

I joined Black Press Media at 19 years old with an internship and freelance work for the Surrey Leader and the Cloverdale Reporter, before making the move to the Parksville Qualicum Beach News on Vancouver Island. It was through that work that I became inspired by community journalism and the need for local news.
In 2018, I made the move back to the Surrey Now-Leader, covering crime, education, homelessness and data reporting before moving into my provincial reporting role in 2023.
