Courtney Koga is passionate about food.
Koga has worked in the food industry and has been surrounded by food for her entire life.
害羞草研究所淓ver since I was a kid. I used to always cook dinner at home. I grew up watching Martha Stewart.害羞草研究所� she said, adding her family gatherings have always been food oriented.
She started her food-truck business, The CrAsian Food Truck, in 2014 with her sister, Meiko Koga, 29.
CrAsian stands for 害羞草研究所渃razy Asian,害羞草研究所� a name the pair came up with last minute.
害羞草研究所淚t害羞草研究所檚 North American street food with asian flavour. It害羞草研究所檚 actually a lot like us. We are half Japanese害羞草研究所� we wanted to add our own flavour and flair to it,害羞草研究所� said Courtney.
She recommends the Thai Burger, 害羞草研究所淚t害羞草研究所檚 the best thing that we have. You won害羞草研究所檛 find a burger like that anywhere else,害羞草研究所� she laughed.
The truck runs from April to mid-October and you can find the CrAsian sisters at local events, festivals, at UBCO and at Kettle River Brewery.
For the most part, the dynamic duo run the show.
害羞草研究所淲e wake up, my sister does the shopping first thing in the morning害羞草研究所� do some prep, drive the truck to the gas station害羞草研究所� then drive it out to wherever we害羞草研究所檙e going.害羞草研究所�
Courtney grew tired of constantly unpacking food and decided to do something fun and creative.
Down the road, she wants to have her own restaurant.
For now Courtney, 27, manages at Raudz Regional Table in downtown Kelowna.
Last summer she was doing 85 hour work weeks.害羞草研究所滻 don害羞草研究所檛 know how I am still alive,害羞草研究所� she said.
She attributes part of it to her sister.
害羞草研究所淚害羞草研究所檓 really fortunate I do have my sister, another great woman in business.害羞草研究所� Your sister is your friend for life, she said.
