Unplug and Play week starts today.

Kelowna害羞草研究所檚 Parkinson Rec Centre opened its doors at 11 a.m. to kick off the week with kids activities and entertainment.

Paul Zuurbier, Executive Director with Project Literacy and an organizer of Unplug and Play, said the event is in its 10th year.

害羞草研究所淚t started out of a concern that children were spending more time on screens, even as young as two years old, and the families are losing that family time together and that creative play,害羞草研究所� Zuurbier said. 害羞草研究所淭hat was the genesis for Unplug and Play, just to really bring that awareness back to families that there害羞草研究所檚 lots they can do that don害羞草研究所檛 involve screen time.害羞草研究所�

The event runs until 3 p.m. and includes crafts, colouring, a bouncy house, and an obstacle course. On the stage you害羞草研究所檒l find live music, a magic show, and other family entertainment.

Zuurbier said the local libraries, BGC, and the YMCA all have free activities for the week. Find more details at .
