Every child deserves a bed to sleep on.

That害羞草研究所檚 the message from Sleep In Heavenly Peace (SHP), an organization that builds and distributes beds and mattresses to kids aged three to 17 who don害羞草研究所檛 have one.

The international organization launched in B.C. a few years ago with Vernon being the first and only chapter. Vernon resident Leo Campeau wanted to expand their reach and has taken the presidential role to launch SHP Kelowna.

Campeau said they desperately need volunteers. 害羞草研究所淲ithout people, it doesn害羞草研究所檛 matter what we do as an executive, it doesn害羞草研究所檛 work.害羞草研究所�

The Kelowna chapter of SHP is in need of five or six volunteers to take on executive roles, but Campeau said they don害羞草研究所檛 need people with great skill. 害羞草研究所淛ust tell us you害羞草研究所檙e interested and we害羞草研究所檒l talk.害羞草研究所�

SHP also needs local volunteers to make quilts for the beds and a team to come together on build days to help put the beds together. Campeau said no woodworking background is required to assist as all the beds have templates and the wood is pre-cut. Rona has sponsored build days in Vernon in past years.

Despite it being a volunteer position, Campeau said there害羞草研究所檚 no greater reward than seeing a child climb onto their very own bed for the first time.
