Freezes were frequent as kids demonstrated their fancy footwork during an Unplug and Play breakdancing session in the Hillcrest Elementary gym on Wednesday evening, Jan. 24. 2024.
One of the Family Literacy Week (Jan. 20 to 27) events organized by the Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society, the session was led by Manny Christjansen, who guided a crowd of about 50 kids through some breakdancing basics before having them form small groups of 2-4 to come up with their own dance routines. The evening ended with everyone gathered in a circle, first with individuals in the centre showing off their dance moves, followed by a game of copy cat, where everyone attempted to mimic Christjansen害羞草研究所檚 moves.
