Infill fast-track program to build more housing in Kelowna

Building more homes quickly is the goal of a new infill fast-track program launched by the City of Kelowna.

"Over time, the fast-track program has the potential to deliver up to 7,000 new homes and help us meet the demand for housing in our city, especially for more affordable and diverse housing options,害羞草研究所 said James Moore, housing policy and programs department manager. 

Moore added that recent zoning changes mean give homeowners more options to build on their lots, which can provide more options for home seekers.

害羞草研究所淐omplete development and building permit applications for eligible lots can be processed and approved within 10 business days when working with a pre-approved, standardized, multiplex design,害羞草研究所 a city media release states.

The new process significantly reduces approval timelines which used to take from two to four months.

Property owners and developers can choose from four pre-approved infill designs and future phases of the program will add more design options.
