A set of original works by UBCO students and alumni now adorns Kelowna害羞草研究所檚 Cultural District.
The 13 colourful street banners adorn lamp posts along the Rotary Centre for the Arts (RCA) commons and the art walk.
It is a partnership program between the city and UBC Okanagan害羞草研究所檚 (UBCO) Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies. The program began in 2020 to create opportunities for local artists during pandemic-related facility closures.
An exhibition opening celebration is scheduled for June 12 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the RCA, which will showcase banners from the past four years as well as an outdoor youth mural, and indoor exhibitions.
