The family of a man who fell into the Fraser River while dipnetting just north of Lillooet on Friday, Sept. 6, is hoping he will be found. 

Randall 'Alvis' Ned, 56, was fishing about 10 kilometres north of Lillooet at a traditional fishing area known as 6 Mile when he disappeared. 

"He's a father, husband, an uncle and a godfather," his sister Linda McDonald told Black Press Media Thursday. "We dearly miss him and want him to come home." 

McDonald said while the river is running quite low presently, the 6 Mile fishing location is a fairly rough area with lots of rapids. 

"We do have sturgeon boats on the river helping search and taking out family members on the river," she said. 

Ned was last seen wearing a green camo long sleeve shirt, blue joggers and hiking boots. 

The 16-foot dipnet he was using hasn't been spotted.

McDonald confirmed the RCMP have been notified.
