2 suspects sought in Okanagan Observatory break-in

The amount stolen is valued over $11,000

Kelowna RCMP.

Kelowna RCMP are investigating a break-in at Okanagan Observatory near Big White Ski Resort on Wednesday, Aug. 21. 

Two suspects were captured on surveillance breaking into a C-Can and taking fire telescopes, an articulating eye-piece used to position the telescope for people in wheelchairs and several other items, all valued over $11,000. 

Police are seeking dash camera footage from Highway 33 between 1:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 21.

Anyone with footage or other information related to the theft is asked to call Kelowna RCMP with file number 2024-48484 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
