Downtown Kelowna Sails lights-up purple for ALS

The iconic Kelowna Sails sculpture located in the city害羞草研究所檚 downtown will be illuminated purple on June 1 and 2, in honour of ALS Awareness Month.

ALS, also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig害羞草研究所檚 disease, is a progressive motor neuron disease that leads to the loss of muscle control, including the ability to move, speak, and breathe.

害羞草研究所淭he illuminations serve as a powerful symbol of solidarity with the ALS community,害羞草研究所 said Rena Mendoza with the ALS Society of BC.

For the month of June, landmarks across the province will be illuminated in purple to raise awareness and represent support for those impacted by the disease.

害羞草研究所淲e hope that as people see these landmarks bathed in purple, they will be reminded of the urgent need to support ALS research and patient care,害羞草研究所 said Mendoza.
