The second annual First Responder Olympics, hosted by the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD), was held on May 8.

The event was held at the main fire hall on Enterprise Way during Mental Health Week.

Six teams, comprising four members each from the Kelowna RCMP, KFD, Emergency Health Services, and Bylaw Service, competed in a series of challenges.

The fire department crew clinched the top two spots, with the defending champions from the RCMP finishing a close third.

According to Dabiri, following plenty of laughs and questionable sabotage (still under investigation), the fire department finished in the top two spots, and the defending champions from the RCMP finished a close third.

Save-On-Foods fed the participants, and planning for the third annual event is underway.
