A BC United nominee for Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream has the backing of a former MLA and former hopeful nominee for the riding.

Adam Wilson, who dropped out of the race on Oct 23., said that after speaking with many of the remaining candidates he will be casting his vote for Binny Boparai.

Wilson was the campaign manager for Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas in his successful civic election bid last year.

Former BC Liberal MLA Dr. John Weisbeck is also supporting Boparai.

Weisbeck was MLA from 1996 to 2005 for the Okanagan East and then Kelowna-Lake Country riding.

He also served two terms on Kelowna City Council beginning in 1988.

Boparai is vying for the BC United nomination along with, Regional District of North Okanagan board vice-chair Amanda Shatzko, Kelowna business owner Pavneet Singh, and lawyer and real estate agent Bal Grewal.
