A Kelowna woman and a local organization have been recognized by the Heritage BC Awards for their roles in heritage-related work.

The Kelowna Italian Canadian Club was recognized for La Nostra Famiglia Italiana Projects: Our Legacy and The Casorsos: La Prima Famiglia Documentary in the category of education and awareness.

害羞草研究所淭he combination of projects produced by the Kelowna Italian Canadian Club serves as a compelling example of the importance of preserving local history害羞草研究所�, said Britney Dack, chair of Heritage BC. 害羞草研究所淚n particular, the documentary beautifully narrates the Italian immigrant experience, highlighting its richness and historical relevance.害羞草研究所�

Individually recognized is Susan Diane Campbell for her outstanding volunteerism.

害羞草研究所淪usan害羞草研究所檚 impressive work on the Kelowna and District Genealogical Society Cemetery Recording committee will make Central Okanagan history more accessible for future generations,害羞草研究所� said Dack. 害羞草研究所淲e recognize that through her tireless work of recording graves over the course of 15 years, Susan created opportunities for knowledge sharing and learning about local history害羞草研究所�.

The Kelowna Italian Canadian Club and Campbell received the awards during a ceremony in Nelson on May 2. A total of 21 awards were presented to groups and individuals across the province.
