Kelowna害羞草研究所檚 Rutland community is seeing improved access to healthcare.

害羞草研究所淧eople living in Rutland and surrounding communities will directly benefit from increased access to health-care services delivered through a new urgent and primary care centre and a new community health centre,害羞草研究所� said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health. 害羞草研究所淚ntegrating physicians, nurses and allied health professionals means patients can receive timely and comprehensive team-based care.害羞草研究所�

The new urgent and primary care centre will provide care to those with non-life-threatening conditions that require care within 24 hours but do not need an emergency room visit.

This will be the opening of Interior Health害羞草研究所檚 ninth urgent and primary care centre.

The care centre will open with a phased approach. From now until Nov. 29, the clinic will operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. From Nov. 30 to Dec. 7, clinic hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. As of Dec. 8, the clinic is expected to be fully operational with hours from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The healthcare staff includes 33 full-time team members of family doctors, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, and a community health worker.

The province provided the Okanagan Family Medicine and Community Health Centre Society a one-time, operational fund of $5.5 million to create a new community health centre. The centre will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Rutland urgent care centre is the 31st in the province to be announced and the new community health centre is the seventh in the province to receive ongoing operating support from the government.
