Three days in a row now, records have been scorched by the heat up and down the valley.

The Okanagan didn't get as hot as Lytton's 42.5 degrees Celsius, the hottest in the province Tuesday, July 9.

But several areas continue to break daily records.

Vernon was the hottest Okanagan city, reaching 39.6 and breaking the 36.7 record set in 1905.

Princeton's 1975 record of 37.2 was also broken yesterday as it got as hot as 39.5.

Kelowna's mercury rose to 39.3 Tuesday, breaking the old record of 38.6 set in 2015.

Penticton reached 38.4, smashing a record dating back to 1919 of 37.2.

Revelstoke just barely made a record, reaching 36.6 - above the 2017 record of 36.2.

The mercury is forecast to drop slightly, with temperatures around 37 forecast for Wednesday, and getting down to 33 by Saturday in the Okanagan, according to Environment Canada and Climate Change.

The heat warning remains in place for today, July 10.
