Okanagan College welcomes new health and social development dean

Patrena Mackie is the new Dean of Health and Social Development at Okanagan College.

Okanagan College (OC) has a new Dean of Health and Social Development. 

Patrena Mackie has more than 17 years of experience in teaching and health care and holds a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Nursing.

Mackie comes from Bow Valley College in Calgary where she was the Associate Dean of the School of Health and Wellness, Nursing portfolio. 

害羞草研究所淚 am honoured to join Okanagan College and look forward to working with a dedicated team to create an inclusive, technologically advanced learning environment that supports all students," said Mackie. 

An OC media release notes Mackie has made significant scholarly contributions to the health care education field, including working on the importance and impact of high-fidelity simulation and virtual reality in health care education.

Mackie joins OC on Sept. 9.
