Kelowna's biggest turnout for Trans Pride March

Hundreds came out to support the Trans Pride March in Kelowna on June 5, 2024.

Music and drum beats filled the streets of downtown Kelowna for the city's largest-ever Trans Pride March. 

On June 5, more than 500 people gathered to support and celebrate the transgender community in Kelowna. The march took place during Kelowna's Pride Week, which runs from June 3-9 and is organized by the Kelowna Pride Society. Numerous events are scheduled to take place across the city throughout the seven days of 2SLGBTQIA+ celebration, including the first ever Two-Spirit Powwow and the Pride March which will be held on June 8. 

Folks donning the trans pride flag's pink, blue and white colours met at Stuart Park and marched through downtown until reaching the Revelry events centre for a celebration filled with love and acceptance.

Next on the busy Kelowna Pride Week schedule is the first-ever Two-Spirit Powwow that will take place in City Park at 5:30 p.m. on June 6.
