Fun, family festivities can be found at the West Kelowna Light Up.
New this year is the Market at Light Up at the Westbank Lions Community Centre.
The event gets underway at 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1 at Westbank Centre along Brown Road, from Main Street to Gossett Road.
Santa and Mayor Gord Milsom flip the switch for the holiday lights at 6 p.m. The high-altitude fireworks show starts at 8:30 p.m., depending on weather conditions.

The city is also hosting the Polar Pancake Pajama Party for families with children aged 12 and under on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The cost is $7 per child and $12 per adult. Pre-register by calling the Recreation and Culture Department at 778-797-8800.
The fourth annual Twinkle Tour starts Dec. 1 as well. Submit your own, or a neighbourº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s home, or business to be included on the tour on the .
The Twinkle Tour includes a Most Festive Contest with prize winners in four categories:
- Most festive residence
- Most festive business
- Most festive street/cul de sac
- Most festive other category
A self-guided tour map is available on the . Contest entry closes Dec. 11. with judging taking place Dec. 15 and winners announced Dec. 19.
Also, holiday public skating at Mt. Boucherie Recreation Complex runs from Friday, Dec. 22 to Sunday, Jan. 7.
