West Kelowna RCMP, Indigenous Youth embarking on canoe journey

The journey covers 55 kilomteres over four days along Okanagan Lake

West Kelowna RCMP Indigenous Police Service and 20 participating in the Youth Canoe Journey. 

The West Kelowna RCMP Indigenous Police Service sets off on a Youth Canoe Journey next week.

The four-day journey (55 kilometres) starts Aug. 26 at Powell Beach in Summerland and end at Bear Creek Provincial Park in West Kelowna..

There are 20 youth participating with adult members and chaperones from several communities. 
 
害羞草研究所淭he goal of the journey is to help build a better relationship with the RCMP and aboriginal communities while educating Indigenous youth the importance of water safety,害羞草研究所 said Sgt. Laura Pollock, media relations officer.  This is another opportunity for the youth to learn about a possible career in the RCMP while on their journey.害羞草研究所

Youth will receive an opening prayer and the traditional smudge will take place before they embark on their trip.
