A set of three goals in the final period pushed the West Kelowna Warriors to a big 4-2 victory over the Vernon Vipers in Saturday, March 2 BCHL action from Kal Tire Place.

The Warriors, who were coming off a 6-5 defeat at home to the Trail Smoke Eaters on Friday, scored first in the opening frame. Sean Keohane rattled home his second of the season less than two minutes into the game.

Isaac Tremblay of the Vipers tied it up, as they were looking for a second consecutive win, after defeating the Prince George Spruce Kings on Friday night.

In the dying stages of the second period, the Vipers would go up 2-1, on the power play from the stick of Adam Csabi.

The lead for Vernon lasted just four minutes as Eliot Compton would score the first of three third period goals for West Kelowna. Callum Hughes and Jackson Kyrkostas also found the back of the net as the visiting Warriors won, 4-2.

Rorke Applebee nabbed his 21st win of the year, stopping 21 of 23 shots faced.

Ethan David let in four off of 30 shots for his 14th loss of the season.

Vernon (27-18-1), fourth in the Interior Conference, plays Merritt next, on Friday, March 8.

The Warriors (28-10-9), second in the conference, will have their work cut out for them in their next matchup, as the top-ranked Penticton Vees come to West Kelowna on Friday, March 8.
