After losing twice to Merritt earlier this month, the West Kelowna Warriors werenº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™t having it anymore as they beat the Centennials 4-3 on Friday night.

In the Nov. 24 contest, the Warriors came out firing with three first-period goals. Trent Wilson and Callum Hughes each scored their sixth goal of the season and then the period was capped off when Michael Salandra scored shorthanded in the final minute of the frame. It was his seventh goal of the year.

Salandra and Wilson each also had an assist in the period while forward Brennan Nelson collected two assists.

The second period was filled with penalties on both sides but a puck didnº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™t find the back of the net until the 18:12 mark when Kiernan Poulin scored a powerplay goal for Merritt to make it 3-1.

Special teams continued to hurt the Warriors in the third period as Jaxson Murray scored 49 seconds into the period and Dylan Wegner tied the game halfway through the frame. Both goals were powerplay markers.

Tied 3-3, the contest went to overtime where Hughes scored his second of the game, seventh of the season to give the Warriors the 4-3 win. Jack Pridham and Zhenya Miles collected the assists on the goal.

West Kelowna goaltender Rorke Applebee made 32 saves in the win.

The Warriors are now 12-6-2-0, sitting fourth in the BCHLº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s Interior Conference.

Next up for the team is some mid-week action as they head up Highway 97 to take on the Vernon Vipers on Wednesday night (Nov. 29). Puck drop is at 7 p.m.

The Warriors will then play twice on the weekend as they will be in Merritt on Friday night (Dec. 1) and back at Royal LePage Place on Saturday night as they welcome the Salmon Arm Silverbacks to town. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturdayº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s game is the 13th annual Pastor Donº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s Christmas Hamper night, where a dollar from each ticket sold goes towards Pastor Donº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s Christmas Hamper campaign.
