If you see smoke over Glen Canyon Regional Park in West Kelowna today, don't be alarms.

The regional district says with good air quality and venting conditions, the  a controlled burn is underway in the southern portion of .

Open burning is also allowed today for those eligible Central Okanagan property owners with permits from their local fire authority.

Today害羞草研究所檚 burning is disposing of fire hazard debris collected as part of a large fuel modification project on just over 15-hectares between the trail entrances at Hebert and Brown Roads and Westbank Centre Park, south to the Gellatly Road parking area.

West Kelowna Fire/Rescue and other authorities authorized the burning with appropriate permits for fire fuel hazard reduction.  All local fire departments and local media have been advised of today害羞草研究所檚 activity in the parks and will be notified when any further burning takes place.

Additional controlled burns will be required to dispose of fire hazard debris collected in fuel modification projects on a 10-hectare section of off Pettman and Bowes Roads in West Kelowna.

The public is being advised  that trails through all the various work areas may be temporarily closed, park users should watch for signs and stay out of any closed areas.
