Car cuts off bus injuring two

Two BC Transit passengers were injured after the bus they were riding collided with an SUV.

The incident happened just before 11 a.m. Friday morning on Pandosy Street near Royal Avenue.

According to Cpl. Jesse O害羞草研究所橠onaghey the bus was in the process of merging back onto the roadway from a stop, when the driver of a Mercedes SUV passed and pulled in front of the bus using the left hand turn lane of the roadway.

The transit driver was forced to brake suddenly, causing several passengers to lurch forward.

Parts of the bus caused relatively minor damage to the SUV, the bus itself appeared undamaged.

It is also reported that another passenger, who had been standing at the time, struck a pole. He sustained what are believed to be minor non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

A woman and her baby, in a stroller, also on board were reportedly uninjured.

The driver of the Mercedes, a woman in her 40害羞草研究所檚, has been ticketed under the Motor Vehicle Act for the alleged unsafe lane change.
