Change your clocks and check your smoke detectors13

Now is a good time to make sure the batteries are fresh in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

With the Daylight Savings time change this weekend, the Kelowna Fire Department is reminding residents to check their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when they change their clocks this weekend.

Daylight savings time takes place on Sunday, March 12 at 2 a.m. 害羞草研究所 when clocks should be set forward one hour.

害羞草研究所淲e would like to encourage everyone to take this opportunity to check their fire alarms as well,害羞草研究所 said fire and life safety educator Rick Euper. 害羞草研究所淚t saves lives. Investigations have shown that most fatal fires are due to a smoke alarm that didn害羞草研究所檛 activate because of dead or missing batteries, or because there were no alarms in place.害羞草研究所

If your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are battery operated, change the batteries, and don害羞草研究所檛 forget to check the date on your alarms 害羞草研究所 if they are ten years or older the alarms will need to be replaced.
