While the sun may be shining in the Okanagan Valley, there are two highway alerts in effect due to potential flurries on the Coquihalla and Highway 3.

According to Environment Canada, drivers on the Coquihalla between Hope and Merritt and on Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton, may encounter snowfall while travelling over high mountain passes on Monday May 6.

A weather system from the Pacific will move across the province today, bringing with it humid air that will likely turn to precipitation in the form of snow as it travels over mountains.

Snow levels will remain at or below mountain pass levels in southern B.C. and snowfall accumulations are possible but will vary depending on the location.

Up-to date road conditions are available at drivebc.ca.
