A man well known to police must not have had his water wings on when trying to run from police on the morning of May 18.

Around 2a.m., RCMP officers in Lake Country noticed a 2002 Dodge Ram that had been involved in a break-and-enter and travel trailer theft the day earlier. Police followed the truck, notcing three people in the vehicle, all prolific offenders.

The suspects then broke into a business in the 7800 block of Hwy. 97, attempting to steal another trailer. Police Dog Services were called in, and two of the truckº¦Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù™s occupants, a man and a woman, tried to run from the officers in the truck, only to get stuck on an embankment and be taken into custody without further incident.

Another man fled on foot, even jumping into Duck Lake and attempting to swim to freedom, though he decided to turn back where officers were waiting on shore.

It was found out that he had a Canada-wide warrant.

Charges are now being recommended by police.
