North Okanagan murder trial must wait until 2025

It will be more than a year before a man accused of murder in Vernon has his day in court.

Peter Michael Visintainer, born in 1961, is charged with first-degree murder in connection to the 2022 death of Wolf-Ingo Beyer.

Beyer害羞草研究所檚 body was found on 6 Mile Creek Road on Okanagan Indian Band land on May 29, 2022.

Visintainer was arrested a few days later and charged with second-degree murder, but that charge was later upgraded to first-degree.

He was in Vernon court Monday, March 4, to confirm trial by jury dates, which have been scheduled for July 21, 2025, at Vernon Law Courts.

There are also applications scheduled for May 21 and May 27.
