A Surrey man identified as being behind the wheel of a rental car that was clocked doing excessive speeds through two White Rock school zones Monday has been slapped with more than $2,000 in fines.

White Rock RCMP Const. Chantal Sears said Tuesday that a grey Volkswagen Jetta first caught the attention of officers conducting school-zone enforcement at around 3 p.m. April 1, when it whipped past White Rock Elementary at 70 km/h.

The legal limit in school zones is 30 km/h.

Following a public appeal for help locating the driver, Sears confirmed Wednesday afternoon that a Surrey resident in his mid-20s has been issued six violations under the Motor Vehicle Act 害羞草研究所� including two for excessive speed 害羞草研究所� for the behaviour.

The violations have been handed to the rental company, which will pass on the expense, Sears said.
