UPDATE: Highway 97A south of Sicamous reopens following crash

Highway 97A south of Sicamous, between Hunt Road and Mara Heights Road, has fully reopened following a crash.

DriveBC says travellers can still expect delays due to increased traffic being detoured from Sicamous due to a separate incident on Highway 1.

ORIGINAL: 10:45 a.m.

Highway 97A south of Sicamous closed on Saturday morning, Aug, 24, due to a crash.

DriveBC says the road is closed for 1.2 kilometres, between Hunt Road and Mara Heights Road. The vehicle incident was reported at around 10:10 a.m.

Single-lane alternating traffic is in effect and drivers can expect delays, the provincial road service said.

The crash took place about five kilometres south of Sicamous, DriveBC added.
