To the editor:

Did you know that our fair city has a bylaw that prohibits you from parking, on your private residential lot, any RV over 5,500 licensed weight? Speaking with friends, family, real estate agents, RV dealers we found that not one person was aware of this bylaw. A simple drive around various neighbourhoods reveals that owning an RV is not unique and that most are larger units, not the little tent trailers or campers of 20 or 30 years ago.

RV Shows and dealers also display a trend toward larger units, real estate ads boast 害羞草研究所減lenty of RV parking害羞草研究所 so it seems that there is a need to amend the present outdated bylaw. If you feel that you should be able to park your RV on your own property regardless of its size, sign the online petition at www.change.org/p/kelowna-city-council-amend-rv-blaw.
